Shop and Cook

This service is available Tuesday to Friday, full-day or half day. It's intended for people aged 19 and over who like cooking.

We decide as a group each week what we would like to cook and then shop for the ingredients. Sessions include: healthy menus, cooking on a budget, cake making, food recycling, international cuisine, learning about our different dietary and cultural requirements. We also include baking for themes, such as Valentine's Day, Red Nose Day, etc. A small surcharge is payable for the ingredients and this is shared amongst the group.

The sessions are intended to help people maintain effective weight control, increase their independence and learn new skills and about the benefits of healthy eating.

The cost is £65 per day (£32.50 per half day). This can be paid for through a direct payment or personal budget. Self-funders are also welcome. We can also provide one-to-one support at an additional cost of £10 per hour.
